Isn't $260 to replace front brakes ridiculous?

My front brakes need replacing.. usually my dad does this kind of stuff for me but we no longer live near him. It's a 2006 Nissan Sentra. Firestone is the place I take my car to, mostly because I have a credit card there. They quoted me $263 to replace the front brakes. I think that is insane. He told me they would do an inspection first to make sure, but isn't this pricey for replacing only the brakes and not rotors? Geez. This is my third time having something done by them and the first couple of times they tried to add a lot of extra fees and do a lot of work that was unnecessary, not knowing I was the daughter of a 'shade tree' mechanic who taught me at least the basics. I'm thinking they're probably trying to rip me again. Thoughts?
