URGENT GEOGRAPHY HELP NEEDED?

I guess we can find a pattern. When I look at the Lesser Antilles, I see roads and villages on the coasts of the islands, lined up like pearls along their shores, almost looking like necklaces around the islands. There are not many roads and villages in the inner parts of the islands. Those regions seem to be rather lonely, mainly covered with forests. Maybe they are occupied by mountains or even volcanoes?
