Is my guppy a female or a messed-up male?

Sorry no pics, but maybe you can tell me from the description. Color is yellow, short tail, unlike male, few days, no sign of eggs. Males occasionally chase him/her. Also, he/she's like a "see-through" fish like a cardinal tetra, painted gl, or ghostfish. I think he/she's a female, but I'm not sure.
