One of the back seat penger doors on my 2004 Chevy Silverado will not open. What is wrong? How can it be fi?

My granddaughter in trying to get out of the back seat of my 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500, accidentally snapped the handle. The handle itself seems fine, but the door absolutely will not open or even budge. I checked the manual, but could not find any suggestion that would help. Is it possible she may have tripped some sort of safety device or blew some sort of fuse meant for safety.? When this happened the car was parked in the driveway and the engine was turned-off.
