How will raising the minimum wage in a stagnant economy create jobs and reduce unemployment?

Obama apparently also doesn't pay attention to the statistics of the government he's trying to make bigger. About 4% of the American workforce makes the minimum wage. Those people are most likely (a) high school students and/or (b) retirees. It's a lie (intended to create the notion that we need to raise the minimum wage) that "people are living on the minimum wage." 40-year-olds won't make the minimum wage, simply by having 20 years' worth of work experience!!
